Our Lamb has conquered, let us follow Him!

Moravians have been seeking to be the church Jesus intended us to be since before the 15th century. The church called itself The Unity of the Brethren and began with the desire to practice faith simply centered on the Person of  Jesus rather than church tradition, based in His Word rather than human opinion, and lived out practically in a way that demonstrates the love of Jesus as much through actions as with words.

Emphasizing the experience of a living relationship with Jesus, the church has sought to keep the main thing the main thing as reflected in the motto: In essentials, unity; In non-essentials, liberty; In all things love.

As the Holy Spirit softened hard hearts, many experienced a renewed appreciation for the love of the Savior. Moravians felt compelled by the Spirit's power to share the love of Jesus with people who had never heard. This sent them throughout the world in simple demonstration of how the love of God transforms ordinary people extra-ordinarily. Meeting people where they lived, learning their languages and loving them like Jesus became the method of mission.

This move of sharing God's love for all the world led some to come to North Carolina in the 18th century. Here they sought to build an outpost for Christ in the wilderness of the time. As the work spread through the Piedmont area, the Ardmore congregation was founded in 1924. We seek to continue the work of Jesus, rooted in the past, but reaching the generations to come by exploring new ways to practically present the unchanging message of salvation and transformation in Jesus. It is our prayer that those who have never heard or have simply forgotten will turn to receive life and purpose eternal in Christ.

Our Lamb has conquered, let us follow Him!
